Ministry Fair

Ministry Fair (1).png

The PBCWG Ministry Fair is a special time that we set aside to celebrate the opportunities that God has given us to connect and serve within our church, in our local community, and beyond.  This festive, community-building event encourages people to consider their gifts, and explore how they can be used to further the PBCWG vision…Knowing God, Living Freely, Loving All.  It is a time to honor the Lord, to recognize & appreciate our volunteers, and to generate ministry awareness, enthusiasm, and involvement among our church family.  It offers people an easy way to ask questions and gather information about the many connecting, serving & outreach ministries that are active within our church community.

“...created for good works, speaking truth,...doing the will of God from the heart.” (From Ephesians)

Gender & Sexuality--PBCWG Adult Elective

  • Willow Glen Community Center

The explosive cultural changes in our world leave many of us bewildered and confused when it comes to loving others with grace and mercy while standing on God’s truth.

This adult elective class on Gender & Sexuality taught by Mark Bucko and Tel Schreiber will explore how Jesus calls us to navigate our culture with love, compassion, and truth.  It will include teaching, panel discussion, and question & answer sessions.

The class will be a three-week course beginning on March 5 and ending on March 19.  It will meet in Room 5 starting at 10:45am. All are welcome.

Session 1:  The Bible & Sexuality - A Biblical Lens on 21st Century Homosexual & Gender Identity.

Session 2: The World & Sexuality – Why Our World Embraces an Anything Goes Culture
Teaching, questions, and conversation to equip us to love with grace, mercy and truth

Session 3: Redeeming our Sexuality Through Biblical Identity & Biblical Community
With sexuality, our imagination sometimes works against us. But imagine what Biblical identity and Biblical community could do to redeem our sexuality. Please join us as we explore this and answer your questions.

Letters to Liberia

A small group of people from PBCC and PBCWG will be traveling to Liberia in early April. We want to BLESS the children and teachers at the Vision Trust school.  We can use your help in two areas:

1.     We are collecting letters for each student at the Vision Trust school---over 300 letters are needed from our congregation! Letters do not have to be long; they can be a simple note addressed to "Dear Friend," introducing yourself and letting the child know you are praying for them.  Most importantly, please include a photo of yourself or your family so they can make a more personal connection. Here is a sample letter if you'd like some ideas.

SPONSORS: We would love to bring your sponsored child a letter from you.  Just include the child’s name and ID number on the letter, and don’t forget to include a picture!  (No gifts this trip please.)

2.     Donate supplies for activities we will run at the school.  You can sign up here.

All letters and donated supplies can be placed in the Liberia Ministry collection box in the Welcome Hall now through March 12th.  For questions, or to email a letter, contact Marianne Mehuys

Handing out these letters to the students has been one of the highlights of the trip--the children are SO excited to receive a letter, and the love and care that it extends from our church to this school community is incredible.  Thank you!

If you have any questions, please contact Mikenna Salin.
